Hello there everyone. Welcome aboard! Once again its time to link up to Julia's Stamping Ground for a hop around the globe.
I took this picture of my desk while I was in the middle of making a 20x20 mixed media canvas. Do you remember the ones I mentioned in this post from May? Well, I finally got a chance to play with them!
I originally intended to create a card using corrugated cardboard for Artful Times Challenge Blog but having two blank canvases encouraged me to get messy and try mixed media.
It features a picture of my mum and I (3 years) on a train to Cairo.
What do you guys think? For a very first try, I think I'm quite happy with how it turned out!
As you can probably see, I love to try my hands at all sorts of different crafts. Fimo, cardmaking, scrapbooking, you name it, I'll try it!
What about you? Do you have a favorite craft or do you just go along with your inner artist like I do?
Don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back!
Hugs,

It is gorgeous Roudi, you'd never think it was your first go, love all the textures and layers and the cardboard. By 20x20 I assume you mean centimetres not inches? Scrapbooking is my number one and mainstay so I can keep all the photos sorted/recorded. I only make cards when required and am recently into art journaling too. Not too keen on getting messy though! Thanks for visiting me this week BJ#85
ReplyDeleteThat's absolutely beautiful Roudi, so much detail. Hope you get your acceptance letter for college and I hope you're going to study something to do with art! I love making cards, but I also knit too, the knitting is relatively new and I'm still on smallish projects to learn techniques. I'd love to make a sweater but don't want to get in too deep too quickly! Happy to see your wonderful talent over at Sparkles too!

ReplyDeleteLove the canvas, I do like the cardboard idea I keep forgetting about that - well done on the canvas, I seem to have lost the confidence to work on canvas at the moment.

ReplyDeleteI like Your canvas very much! And Your watercolors. Paint Yourself very much so You can have art which is Yours and individual. Not sublunas so much.

That is beautiful Roudi. The colours are perfect for a 'memory page'. I love your work and the fact you will try anything.I am always seeing new techniques on blogs and I love to give them all a try. Some I just do once and move on, while others I'll return to over and over. I just need more play time! Kate x#56
