Oh me, oh my! I have missed you guys so freakin' much! How's everyone doing? I hope you're well and having a good time y'all!
Haven't blogged in a month. Yikes! Basketball, school, exams, traveling, you get the idea.
Want to know what I've been up to? This week's photo of my desk is slightly different.
Say hello to the old mattress at our school gym!
It was a Fun-Day and my best friend and I decided to have a little 'play date' at school. I shoved put most of my supplies in my backpack and got ready for 3 hours of mess creativity!
This was the result:
A little birthday card for a friend of mine. We threw her a surprise party and I just had to make her a little something to go with the gift.
What else? Well, I've been working on my drawing in the last couple of weeks..
I took the challenge of drawing two things that always irritate me while drawing. Needless to say, these two things were human hands and draped fabric! I've always had problems with these stuff in particular. Practice makes perfect, I guess!
Hey, want to hear something completely off-topic, but equally as interesting?
I've sculpted my very first OOAK clay doll!
OOAK stands for (One Of A Kind).
Is it a baby? Is it a fairy? All I know is that it's cute! (and was definitely no where near easy to make!)
I only used my hands and a toothpick, that is!
So that's it for today folks! I hope you enjoyed your visit and I'm totally waiting for your comments. :):)
Have a nice day, and don't forget to visit Julia's Stamping Ground and take a look at all the creative workdesks out there.
Until next time!
Wow, the crafting on the floor is growing - love the idea of a mattress! Have a creative week. Helen, 10
ReplyDeleteHi Roudi,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I'm sure your friend loved her special 18th birthday card! Both your drawings and your clay fairy baby (that's what I think) are great. I'm amazed at the detail of the fairy. It is absolutely amazing - looks so real!
Happy WOYWW

Yes, I think a fairy baby too! your birthday card is great, its amazing what you can make on the floor! I think your hand drawing is awesome- I really, really cannot draw anything that is recognisable, so appreciate the work of anyone who can.Have a great week, Hugs Shaz xx#65
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a talent for drawing Roudi, I’m absolutely useless at anything like that. Love your little Ooak doll too. It must have taken you ages working on something so small, but what fabulous results.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by this week.
Happy Crafting!

I think all your practice is paying off! Your hands and the fabric look incredibly realistic to me...
ReplyDeleteLove that you make art wherever you can....seems like this is something that will serve you well throughout your life.
Happy week to you!

Wow, wow, wow! Your card is lovely! The drawings are fantastic! You doll though, the detail on the face is just so realistic. You are very talented to have done that for your first time! Thanks for the visit!

Hi Roudi
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting earlier - welcome back to WOYWW! Love your carved figure - so delicate & so detailed - well done ! The drawing is coming along great as well ! I have been trying to teach myself too - but haven't practised in ages ! Ali x #8
Love your little clay doll, fabulous! Great drawing too, hands are so hard to do. Happy WOYWW
ReplyDeleteWOW your clay doll is amazing! Your crafty day looks cool too. Thanks for visiting me BJ#55
ReplyDeleteI looooooooooove that little doll you sculpted! To me it looks like a fairy or munchkin of some kind but it is awesome, the minute detail that you put into it! I also hate drawing hands and draped fabric, so I can relate, but girl, you are one talented young lady! Glad to see you back in blog land, but we understand that school comes first! ♥ waving hi from the soggy laden hills of North Carolina ☺
ReplyDeleteWELL! This week is an all round surprise for me! Firstly, I had NO idea you were still in school, so kudos to you, lady!! Secondly, not getting by here too often means I haven't seen much of your artwork and you are rather talented, that's for sure. And lastly, OMG - talent on the sculpting? I immediately saw Henson puppetry and the like, go have a watch of things like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth - there may be a career for you with one of the big Creature workshops in the movie industry one day, if this is what you can turn out with a toothpick now! Reach for the stars, young lady, reach for the stars.....
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy Roudi, I love your card and your drawing is superb, as your little doll fairy/baby, that really is a little work of art. Thank you for visiting me. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteLove that cute doll, a baby angel if ever I saw one. Great drawing as well - I can't draw anything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog - much appreciated.

Wow! That Angel is fabulous and love your drawing. As someone who cannot draw very well I always admire people who can. Keep up the good work and thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me a comment so I could come back and visit you.
