WOYWW#228

OMG hi there you guys!
I missed you so much!
Hope all my lovely desk snooping friends are okay.
This is just a quickie from me to tell you that I'm still there!

I've started college and things are going pretty well. Loving English literature and Greek mythology!  I've also been crafting a lot and making mixed media canvases. I can't wait to share them with you guys!

As some of you already know, I don't have internet acess because we're still moving BUT, I did manage to make a little tutorial for you and I would LOVE it if you check it out. It's for this gorgeous lace bracelet:

I will be replying to comments and visiting everyone back, but I'm doing this on my phone so please bear with me. :)
Catch you all later!

Exciting news!

Morning crafty peeps!
I've got some very exciting news to share with you today. I got an e-mail from Shaz at Sparkles Challenges asking if I would like to join their design team! Of course I had to think about it first. For like one second! I've never been into any DT before so this is keeping me on my toes! You can check out my first project along with the fabulous makes my teammies have created at Sparkles Challenges tomorrow morning!

The other piece of news is one you've all been waiting for. *drumroll*
I'm going to Alexandria University next fall! Faculty of Arts, English department. Hooray for endless hours of Shakespeare and Jane Austin! I couldn't be happier. I just love the English language and literature. *grin*

And saving the best for last, this Wednesday makes me a..
I can't believe it's been a year already. I've met some of the most inspiring ladies throughout this year. Thank you everyone for being so nice to me and here's to many more years of desk snooping!
Which reminds me, no desk for this week. *pout* I have a good excuse though, along with a photo. Please don't be alarmed by the mess! lol

I've been packing my butt off in the past couple of days. We're giving our whole apartment a complete makeover! Things are going a bit slow, but nobody's complaining!

Now if you excuse me, I will drag my exhausted-from-packing-all-day-long self to bed and I'll get around to all of you first thing in the morning. Don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back!

Toodle pip!

WOYWW #128

Hello there everyone. Welcome aboard!  Once again its time to link up to Julia's Stamping Ground for a hop around the globe.

I took this picture of my desk while I was in the middle of making a 20x20 mixed media canvas. Do you remember the ones I mentioned in this post from May? Well, I finally got a chance to play with them!

I originally intended to create a card using corrugated cardboard for Artful Times Challenge Blog but having two blank canvases encouraged me to get messy and try mixed media.
It features a picture of my mum and I (3 years) on a train to Cairo.

What do you guys think? For a very first try, I think I'm quite happy with how it turned out!
As you can probably see, I love to try my hands at all sorts of different crafts. Fimo, cardmaking, scrapbooking, you name it, I'll try it!

What about you? Do you have a favorite craft or do you just go along with your inner artist like I do?
Don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back!

Hugs,

It's my birthday! And some news

Wow long time no blogging! Well there's been plenty of things keeping me on my toes.
First off, I'm waiting for my acceptance letter to get into college. Crossing my fingers for Alexandria University. Then there's this exhibition at a park near our place that I've been asked to take part in. The very thought of pricing something I've made scares the hell out of me! I've been tempted to call them and say I'm busy and cancel the whole thing but I hope think it's going to be a nice experience.

Whoops, Julia is probably going to kill me. Not doing so well with the "short and sweet" rule for WOYWW posts! I hope you guys are not bothered with all the talk because I haven't written a WOYWW post in ages and there's so much I want to share with you!

Here's my desk this week:
A lovely collection of goodies mum got me. Which brings me to..
I'm turning 18 tomorrow!
I'm so excited! I've already got cards in the mail from two of you lovely WOYWW fellows. It just feels great to know that someone out there on the other side of the globe cares enough to send you a little something on your birthday. :)
Would you like to drop me some happy mail? Just ask, I'd be glad to give you my addy.

Another big thing. (for me at least. lol) This year, I'm treating myself to a Cuttlebug! Yes, it's going to cost me over a hundred dollar considering the shipping all the way to Egypt and everything, but I've been wanting it long enough. I just have to have a die cutting machine of my own.
I'll have to wait and save some more money before I can even get any folders or dies. I can live with that. lol

Okay one last thing before you go, checkout my latest Fimo creation:

Measures just a tad over 2 inches. I love working in miniature! What do you think?

Have you had enough of my babble? Okay okay I'll let you continue with your list blogs to visit. Don't forget to leave me a comment!

Hugs,

Candy Winner & WOYWW #214

Good morning lovely followers and WOYWWers around the globe!
Missed me? Things have been overwhelming here in Egypt in the last two weeks. Us going out to make Morsi and Muslim Brotherhood resign and the U.S. supporting them and their terrorist minds. You know. lol So that's basically why I haven't been around lately and why I don't have a desk to show today.
Enough with politics now, you guys are here for your daily dose of Fimo cuteness and that is exactly what you get!
Say hello to teeny tiny Mr. Penguin! He measures just a tad less than an inch and has the tiniest little ribbon to keep him warm. Isn't he adorable?

And as for my Blogiversary Candy, I literally squealed when the Random Number Generator picked the number!

The winner is Annie! Our Annie! Go give her some love and a shout-out. I'm sure she'll be thrilled with the news!

That's it for me today. I've been making some cards that I would love to show you guys, they're in the last couple of posts. Would you take the time and tell me how I'm doing?
Now I'm off to visit all of my WOYWW friends over at Julia's Stamping Ground. Hop on and check out what everyone else is up to!

WOYWW # 211

Hi everyone! Missed me? Didn't get to play with y'all last Wednesday. If you've been popping around in the last couple of weeks you'd know by now that I'm super busy revising for my finals. Eek!
My desk has been transformed into a studying place. *sob*
Here's how it looks like in my place:
One of the many books I'll have to finish before next Sunday, a mini air-dry clay plate I've made, my stack of envelopes containing the ATCs I've received for the WOYWW 4th anniversary, and last but not least, one of Shrek's  babies posing for the photo!

I did manage to make one little card in between revising though. Here it is:

Used one of my favorite stamps from Magnolia's You Are So Special collection. It's called Tilda With Balloon.
I've colored her with my watercolor pencils and added some glitter dots around her for a bit of interest.
Paper, button, ribbon and twine are from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Midweek Magnolias (favorite colors) - Tilda's Town (use your stash) - The Ribbon Girl (June color challenge)

That's it for me today! Now hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and checkout what everyone else is up to.

Stay Safe. xx

WOYWW #208 - It's the big day!

Welcome to my place WOYWWers around the globe! Got your party hats on? Today is extra special. It's Wednesday and it's our blog hop's fourth birthday. Hurrah!
I bet everyone is burning with anticipation to try and spot hidden ATCs on workdesks here and there!
Without further ado, here's what my desk looks like:

I've been playing with paper and embellies. I'm in the middle of making a card using this cute hedgehog stamp. Just finished a fun summer card there on the easel and an award ribbon for dad who's got a promotion the other day!
Have I forgotten anything? Hmm, paper, buttons, brads, scissors. Oh, those two envelopes you say?
Well, you've got them! Two wonderful WOYWW friends sent me ATCs all the way from England!

This one if from Ali. She did a wonderful job making a little envelope for the ATC and all! Thank you Ali. I love it!

And this one is from Annie. Look at the beautiful embroidery! The best part? The little WOYWW poem she's written! You should have seen the smile on my face the whole time I was reading it. Thank you very much Annie. It's beautiful. :)

And finally, my ATCs:
Three of them have been posted to my extra swap partners and there's one waiting for my list partner.

Sorry for the long post, but there was so much I wanted to show you! Now hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground. I bet everyone's having a little party at their place, too!
Happy anniversary everyone!

WOYWW #207

Hello there desk snooper around the world! One more week till our big ATC swap. So excited!
If you have no idea what this post's title means or why I keep sharing pictures of my messy creative desk every week, where have you been? Well, this post is sure to make things clear for you!

So what's on my workdesk this Wednesday you ask?

A new set of drawers! I've had my eyes on these for a long time and finally got the chance to buy them the other day. They do a great job holding all my bits and pieces, so yeah!
On my desk you can see my sketchbook, a clay pendant waiting to be baked, some rubber stamps that I forgot to clean (oops?), my box of clay and last but not least the envelopes containing my extra ATCs for the swap. They're on their way now I'm sure, so hopefully they'll be there on time. I can't wait to find out who my main swap partner is going to be!

And because you guys keep showering me with encouraging comments about my clay work, this is what I've been keeping my hands busy with:

What do you think? Cute enough?

Okie dokie that's it for me today. Now hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground and take a sneak peek at what my WOYWW friends are up to!

WOYWW #206

Morning peeps! Barely catching up with y'all before I go study some more. Finals are just around the corner!
My workdesk hasn't really been tidied since last week's post. Keeping crafting on hold for a while now and just doodling in my little sketchbook till I'm done with my exams. So this week, this is how everything looks like:

Watercolors, brushes, my trusty ball point pen, some blank canvases that I'm dying to get creative with, the latest card I've made showcased on the easel and some more Fimo brooches from this post. You can also spot some of my ATCs for the Anniversary Swap, which reminds me..

I will be participating in this year's swap and I've made a few extra ATCs. So if any of you would like one, please say so in your comment and leave me your e-mail so I can contact you. Envelopes take around 12 days to arrive to or from Egypt, so I will be sending mine early and, hopefully, you're going to get it a day or two before the big date.
Oh, and if anyone is feeling extra generous to send me an ATC, I would absolutely love that! My details are on my "About me" tab.

In other news, here's my latest clay creation:
Another woodland inspired brooch. What do you guys think?

Don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back. Now hope on over to Julia's Stamping Ground and checkout what everyone else is up to!

Hugs,

WOYWW #204

Hello there WOYWWers round the world! This is a scheduled post and I've just gotten the time to link up so I'm a little late this week. *sigh* exams are so cruel! lol

The weather's been great all week long, so I thought I'd go out and get me some sunshine and inspiration. And sure enough, my sketchbook had a new scribblet in a blink!

I used my watercolor pencils and ballpoint pen. Flowers are just starting to bloom, but they're getting there!
By the time I was done with my page, the sun was going down, so I had to take my desk photo this morning, there you go everyone:

My finished flowers after adding some texture and detail with markers and some more watercolors.
The page on the left is also one of my favorites. I think it's just the perfect quote for every artist. :)

Okie dokie, that's it for me today! Now come and see what everyone else is up to at Julia's Stamping Ground. And don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back.

WOYWW #203

Wow! I haven't blogged in ages! I have a good excuse though, my finals are one month away. I've already filled the application form for the Faculty of Fine Arts. Yikes!
So now that you know why I won't be around till the end of June, welcome to my place WOYWW fellows!

What's on my desk this week? Clay work of course!
I'm so excited about these little cuties. One of the girls in my class saw the teddy pin I was wearing and immediately asked me to make one for her. She even, quoting, "had to place an order" for two of her friends, too!
Looks like I know what my summer job is going to be! So right now, along with studying, these pins are what I'm up to. Modeling, gluing, packaging, and all over again!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I'm starting off with these two designs for now, but Mr Mojo promised to come play with me after the exams!

So that's it for me today, short and sweet.
Don't forget to hop on over to Julia's Stamping ground. There are some fun desks to check out!
Oh, and don't forget to leave me a comment so I can visit you back!

WOYWW #199

Hi there WOYWWers all over the world!
The weather here in Egypt has been wonderful all week long! Plenty of sunshine and just a hint of breezy wind. Perfect for some quality time outside!

What's going on at my desk this Wednesday?

Well, I got a huge box of goodies from my new penpal Jamie. She was so generous and sent me all sorts of pretty scrapbooking stuff to play with. I figured I wouldn't be able to show you guys everything in the package, but she included a plain Accordion Album for me to fill with bits and pieces of my life and that's exactly what you'll be seeing in the next couple of posts! Isn't it pretty? Jamie's the best!
Up on my desk you can see my new Funky Fish mug, a half-eaten bar of chocolate and some other random stuff. And down there you can see some of the stuff I've received along with a pretty card and a magnet in the shape of Tennesee! (She even marked where she lives for me!)

Onto my makes this week:
Two pretty cards for my mom and grandma this mothers day.

I use pencils for coloring my stamps as Copics are nowhere to be found here in Egypt. (but again, that's just the usual! lol)

Thank you for visiting me this week, please leave me a comment so I can return the favor! And don't forget to hop on over to Julia's Stamping ground and checkout what everyone else is up to.

Toodle pip!

WOYWW #197

Morning! Welcome one and all! Time for some desk snooping around the globe. If you're still wondering why I post a picture of my messy workdesk every Wednesday, you better go to Julia's Stamping Ground and she'll tell you all about WOYWW!
Here's what I'm up to this week:

Since I work on my PC table due to lack of space, the keyboard drawer makes an extra desk. Huraah!
There's nail polish, washi tape, a fimo cupcake and doggie and way at the back you can just see a hint of the latest card I've been working on.

And these clay pendant are my latest obsession. My lovely sponsors at Wholeport.com sent me this package of antique pendant bases to play with and I knew straight away what I was going to do with them.

The toadstools turned out lovely, don't you think?

Here's one more fimo figure for you guys. Just because you seem to like them very much!

I haven't decided what this little mermaid would be made into yet. A brooch pin perhaps?

Well, I guess that's it for this week. Don't forget to visit Stamping Ground and check out what everyone else is up to.

xo,
