Up, Up and Away at Sparkles Challenges

Morning dear friends, followers and visitors. Today I'm sharing my very first DT project for Sparkles Monthly Challenges! I'm so excited to be part of the team and I hope I inspire you to join our challenge

Our challenge theme is Up, Up and Away
We would like to see some balloons! Be it hot-air or party balloons, we want you to create something that goes up, up and away!

Here's what I came up with:
Clean and simple, and the patterned paper really brings the hot-air balloon to life!

Here are a couple of very quick steps:
Trace the shape of the balloon onto a scrap piece of cardstock, and divide it into 6 sections.

I drew little flowers and dots in each section to identify which section is going to be cut out of which patterned paper.
Next, cut them out carefully and trace each section to the corresponding patterned paper. Cut, arrange, assemble, and you're done!

Here's one last look at the card from a different angle..

I used a piece of corrugated cardboard for the basket, glued some twine and bling to the balloon with foam squares under everything for added dimension.

Well, that's it for me today. Hope I've inspired you to join our challenge. You can win yourself some delicious ribbon!

Until next time, stay safe!

  11. I love your card and the Hot Air Balloon...how simply adorable. It was funny to stop by your blog and find you made one. My grandson said that he thinks the theme for my studio should be Hot Air Balloons. I will have to show him your card. Fanstastic job.
