Tutorial: Napkin Flowers

Get ready for spring by making those easy-peasy tissue paper flowers. You can make them in any color,or even add layers of different colors! Have fun. :]

You’ll need:

Napkins/Tissue paper (any color)
Scissors
Pencil
Straws or empty pen tubes
Yarn or string scraps
Green cardboard/paper scraps
 __________________________________________________________________
Step #1
Get your napkins ready. Start with 4 or 5 layers and put them on one another.

 __________________________________________________________________
Step #2
Fold your napkins in a fan-like way.

 __________________________________________________________________
Step #3
Tie your napkin fan from the middle with your yarn scrap.
 __________________________________________________________________

Step #4
Using your scissors, cut little half circles at each end of your napkin. (these will be your little petals!)

Step #5
Now you should start ‘unfolding’ your fan like the pictures below.

 __________________________________________________________________
Step #6
Very gently, pull the first layer of napkins towards the center of the flower.
  __________________________________________________________________

Step #7
Continue doing this with all remaining layers till you get your flower shape.
 __________________________________________________________________
Step #8
Take your straw (in my case it’s an empty pen tube) and wrap and glue a strap of green cardboard on it using your hot glue-gun.
  __________________________________________________________________
Step #9
Now make the flower a little ‘stand’ that you can glue the stem to.

  __________________________________________________________________
Step #10
Attach the stem and you’re done! Sit back and marvel at your pretty flower. :]

Make several of these and you got yourself a wonderful vase of homemade beauty!

My 5 and 6 yr old cousins also made ‘wristies’ out of them using some elastic. :]

I hope you liked the little tute. :D Give it a try and post your pics in a comment. ♥
See you all later.
